Engines, Perfect Metal Set 3 from Lifecolor

A recent release from Lifecolor is this third set in their series of 'Perfect Metal' paints. This one is excellent for Engines as the title suggests, but the colours have plenty of other uses. In particular, I made use of the Weathered Steel colour to brush paint a 1/350 scale model of Thunderbird 1. Yes, a kit based on the original childrens' TV series, and which features a 1/350 scale model of Thunderbird 1 itself, but within a Launch Bay diorama setting, all included in the kit. The instruction called for the main body of Thunderbird 1 to be painted silver, but to my eye that would be too bright. To my eye it has a grey shade to it and I picked out the Weathered Steel shade from the new set. It brush painted without any problem and to my eye, the colour looks just right. I also used another colour, Burned Pipes, on the exhaust pipes on the launch trolley. I have been very happy with the end result, and the new paint shades worked a treat.
So, great for engines but there are other possible uses for them as well.
