Title: WW2 Vehicles Through the Lens 2
Author: Jon Feenstra
Publisher: Peko Publishing
ISBN: 978-615-6602-02-2
The second book in the TTL (Through The Lens) series from Peko Publishing. A 123-page hard-cover book, with all text in English.
Full page photos, so lots of good clear detail throughout. There are 6 sections, each one devoted to a particular vehicle type. The sections are Pz IV Ausf F2 (G), Pz V Panther Ausf A, the Stug III Ausf G and then the Panzerjager 1 4.7cm Pak(t) auf Pz I Ausf B. That leaves the final 2 sections which switch to being on French subjects, Renault Trucks in Wehrmacht service and the Char B1 and B1 Bis. By far the bulk of the many photos in this one I have not seen before, so great to see yet more new material. There is plenty in here for those wanting to add even more detail to their models, and equally plenty of diorama ideas among them as well. The captions have plenty of detail on each photo. Pictures feature equipment on the Eastern Front, North Africa, as well as both early and late war in NW Europe.
In addition to the 2 French vehicles, I especially liked the selection of photos of the Panzerjager 1. For the modeller there are plenty of 1/35 kits available of the different German AFVs, and with the Tamiya Char B1 Bis and the ICM kit of the AHN truck, there is plenty to get out of this one. There are a couple of pictures which grabbed my attention show Pz IVs on railway flat wagons I will add that in the back of the book a page tells us that TTL number 3 should not be too far behind.
Thanks to Hungarian based Peko Publishing for our review copy.
