WW2 Vehicles Through the Lens 1

...first of a new series from PeKo Publishing

Title: WW2 Vehicles Through the Lens 1
Author: Tom Cockle
Publisher: PeKo Publishing
ISBN: 978-615-5583-92-6

Number 1 in what promises to be another excellent new series of photo books from PeKo Publishing. A 123-page landscape format hard-cover book, with photos nice and big throughout, 1 per page.
The book is split across 6 sections. The first features the Stug IIIs of Sturnm-Abteilung 202, with both short barrelled early versions and later long barrelled variants. In [articular I think modellers will like the detail of wood panelled side armour, and a combination of that with metal schurtzen as well. Section 2 features the Tiger I Ausf.E in both summer and winter scenes plus a couple on rail flats, with transport tracks and wider combat tracks. Section 3 features Lend-Lease tanks, destroyed/captured on the Eastern Front, with Stuarts, Matildas, Lees, and Valentines. A selection of Pz IV variants nest, from A through to F in France and later in Russia. Number 5 is devoted to the Marder II, with some super detail in the photos and leaving the final section in this volume to an interesting mix of miscellaneous vehicles, even including a snow-blower!
This is a fine selection of images, with lots of detail that modellers and WW2 vehicle historians will enjoy I am sure. With the large format pictures, all with helpful captions, the mix of subjects is interesting. The bulk of the pictures have not been published before and it amazes me how publishers are still able to find so many, and of good quality. The final page promises that volume 2 in this new series should follow soon.
Thanks to Peko for our review copy.
