The Japanese Destroyer Suzutsuki

...a TopDrawings title from Kagero, via Casemate UK

Title: The Japanese Destroyer Suzutsuki
Author: Mariusz Motyka
Publisher: Kagero
ISBN: 978-83-67284-01-1

Number 128 in the Top Drawings series from Kagero, and that number alone gives a good idea of how popular these books are. A 24-page soft-cover book, plus a larger separate sheet tucked inside.
The Suzutsuki was a powerful IJN Destroyer, commissioned in December 1942, it was one of 12 of the Akizuki class of air-defence destroyers, intended to protect their aircraft carriers. Despite being damaged, it was a ship that survived the war. The single page of background notes which starts things off are provided in both English and Polish languages, as are all the captions and notes throughout the book. The rest of the book contains a series of 3D drawings which illustrate each section of the ship in great detail. Even the multitude of aerial wires are clearly illustrated, a great boon to warship modellers. On the back cover of the book are some nice full colour profiles of the ship. Tucked into the book is a larger fold-out sheet which has excellent 1/200 scale plans for the ship, with smaller detailed plans of specific elements of it on the reverse side.
Another super set of drawings and illustrations which are great for modellers, whatever your favoured scale. This range of TopDrawings books continues to grow and makes for a great set of references. These Kagero books are distributed here by Casemate UK, who kindly provided the review copy.
