Title: Single Vehicle No 09, Polish Heavy Military Motorcycle M 111 Sokol 1000
Author: Adam Jonca

ISBN: 978-83-67227-47-6

New in the Single series of books from MMP, a 28-page soft-cover book.
This one opens with a description of this Polish built motorcycle combination, and its' assorted variants, which are then featured within the book. A heavy, 1000cc bike, but designed to be strong and to minimise breakdowns. This introduction is followed by a couple of pages of scale plans, where there are 1/35 and larger 1/17.5 scale line drawings of the basic combination, along with both the machine-gun armed and radio equipped variants. Then the book carries on, using copies of original documents and archive photos showing them in service, along with helpful explanatory captions which cover the basic sidecar combination, the armed motorbikes, with a Ckm 7.9mm wz.30 Browning machine-gun along with another carrying boxes of anti-tank mines, then one communications version, with a radio and finally a 'powered motorbike trolley', which featured a powered drive to the sidecar wheel, to improve mobility. The book is rounded off with a page on motorcyclists uniforms and right at the end, some useful colour profiles.
Not a motorcycle I was familiar with beforehand, and with an interesting variety of variants. Another case to prove that 'every day is a school day', where we can always learn about something new to us. I found this one really very interesting, one for motorcycle fans as well as modellers and military vehicle enthusiasts.
Thanks to MMP and their distributor Casemate UK for the review copy
