Title: Single Vehicle 13 Pzkpfw VI Tiger II
Author: Przemyslaw Skulski, Grzegorz Jackowski and Wojciech Rynkowski
Publisher: MMP Books
ISBN: 978083-68377-00-2
A new addition to the Single Vehicle series from MMP Books, number 13, and this focuses on the King Tiger. A 20-page soft-cover book.
The first 3 pages have a set of 1/35 scale plans for the King Tiger, followed by another 3 pages of archive photos. What follows are pages of photos illustrating finer details of the King Tiger, tackling the hull, the turret and gun, the chassis (the running gear and tracks), the engine and transmission as well as some general pictures of the whole vehicle, some in colour. These detail photos are taken using a number of surviving examples, including those at the Swiss Armour Museum at Full, the Panzer Museum at Munster, Bovington Saumur, Patriot Park in Russia and at La Gleize in the Ardennes. The final page and a half have 3 nice colour profiles, illustrating 3 different camouflage schemes that you might want to try on a model.
As is usual with this series, no significant sections of text, it holds scale plans, reference photos and some colour artwork. Very much aimed at the modeller and the armour enthusiast who is looking for finer points of detail. Another useful addition to this series.
Thanks to MMP Books and the UK distributor, Script Military, for the review copy.
