A new 152-page soft-cover book in their Yellow series from MMP Books in Poland. This one takes on the subject of the Polish built pre-WW2 fighter, the PZL P.11c. Very much a product of the 1930s, it was actually quite a good design, as nations were changling from biplane to monoplane fighter designs. One of the main differences with this Polish designed machine was that they went for a high-wing monoplane rather than a low wing design, such as the Spitfire and Me Bf109 which the RAF and the Luftwaffe went for. At the outbreak of WW2 the type equipped 12 Polish fighter squadrons.
The book splits nicely into 6 main sections. It naturally begins with an Introduction and the Design story of the aircraft. That is followed by the wartime history of the aircraft, including the various units they equipped. That leads nicely a Technical Description, that breaks it down into various elements, including wing, fuselage, cockpit, engine etc. That is then followed by a series of 1/48 scale plans. Section 4 fills a lot of pages, and holds a series of very detailed photos showing preserved airframes, and has external and many internal details included. That is followed by a section which examines the colours and markings of pre-war and wartime Polish aircraft, serial numbers and more. Then the final set of pages hold a series of excellent colour profiles which modellers will really enjoy.
Another fine addition to this series, and detail which aviation historians and modellers alike will enjoy. Easily recommended.
