...Single Vehicle No.08, from MMP via Casemate

Title: Polish Armoured Draisine TK
Author: Adam Jonca
Publisher: MMP Books
ISBN: 978-83-67227-31-5
Number 8 in the Single Vehicle series from MMP Books, a 17-page soft-cover book.
This one opens with 3 pages of 1/35 scale drawings, featuring the draizine, the specialised rail wagon, along with TK-3 and TKS tankettes, including version fitted with radio and tall bar aerials. The wagon features a central beam that supports the tankette, which can be raised up so that they can be coupled with other wagons to form part of a train, or it can be lowered, so the tracks of the the tankette can engage with the rails, making it potentially a self-propelled unit. The rest of the book has plenty of excellent archive photos, along with a number of copies of original plans giving even more detail of the wagons, though these are not to any given scale. Also included among the photos and the drawings, is another type, for the slightly larger FT-17. The back page features some full colour artwork of the draizine, with Polish multi-colour camouflage.
Bags of inspiration in this one for the modeller, and, given not only the archive photos but also the scale plans, I would not be in the least but surprised these days if someone doesn't leap on this one to produce a design for 3D printing. Historians, modellers and railway enthusiasts will I think thoroughly enjoy this one.
