Title: P-47 Razorbacks of 8th AF Colours
Author: Artur Juszczak
Publisher: MMP Books
ISBN:978-83-67227-11-7

A new set of colour artwork profiles from MMP Books, covering the P-47 Razorback versions in service with the assorted units of the US 8th Air Force in the UK during WW2. A 56-page soft-cover book in landscape format.
There are some helpful notes on the camouflage and changes over time to the markings applied to the aircraft and then profiles of examples from each squadron that made up each of the 9 fighter groups of the 8th Air Force, along with the two in the Fighter Training Group and lastly, the 5th Emergency Rescue Squadron. The bulk of the illustrations show aircraft in the basic camouflage of Olive Drab upper surfaces and Neutral Grey lower surfaces while there are others in an overall natural metal finish. As well as the specific squadron codes, there are also additional detail illustrations of plenty of the nose art examples which feature on the individual profiles.
This is sure to interest enthusiasts of the aircraft of the 8th Air Force in WW2, and especially so to modellers who may well take on this theme for a collection of models in whichever is your favourite scale. The quality of the artwork is first class in my opinion plus there were some details that were new to me, such as the use of the national markings on the top and bottom of both wings, rather than just one which we are so used to on US aircraft, even to this day.
Thanks to Casemate UK, who are the distributors for the MMP Books ranges for our review copy.
