We have reached number 50 in the Single series of booklets from Polish publishers, MMP Books. This is a 24-page soft-cover book, distributed in the UK by Casemate. The C.714 was a light fighter, developed in France, and 35 were used by Polish pilots in France, after the fall of Poland itself following the German invasion on 1939. A wooden airframe, it sadly proved to be poor operationally.
This latest title follows the common style for the series, starting with pages of scale plans for the aircraft in both 1/72 and 1/48th scales. The following pages are filled with archive photos, a mix of archive wartime shots plus others showing plenty more detail from an example partly restored and on display in the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow. Plenty of detail in these to help modellers. Then to close the book, some computer generated images for the cockpit interior and the instrument panel. On the last 2 pages, colour profile and plan views of Polish camouflaged aircraft 10, as seen at Dreux in June 1940.
These books have always been ideal references for modellers, and this one is no exception. In fact, the back cover tells us that it is dedicated to a 1/48 kit of the aircraft by Dora Wings plastic kits. A handy reference for aircraft modellers and enthusiasts.
Thanks to Casemate UK for the review copy, who are the distributors for MMP Books here in the UK.
