...TopDrawings 91 from Kagero, via Casemate
Title: Sd.Kfz 173 Jagdpanther
Author: Krzysztof Mucha
TopDrawings Number 91 from Kagero covers one of the best German tank destroyers of WW2. Not that many were built and it only entered service in 1944. The introduction tells us how it was built on the Ausf G chassis and armed with the powerful 88mm Pak 43. They were built in 3 different factories and there were some differences between the early and late designs, plus there were variations thanks to differing availability of parts so not just a simple change between early and late designs. The most obvious difference between early and late was the use of either a welded or larger bolted collar to the gun mount.
Following the standard format for this series, it has 36 pages plus a separate, larger fold-out sheet of additional plans. In this one it holds scale plans in 1/72 and 1/35. These have additional explanatory notes, and as usual presented in both English and Polish languages. Colour profiles fill the 4 centre pages as well as the back cover. With the drawings noting the differences to be seen between variants and the factories they came from, this will be interesting for both the AFV historian and the modeller alike. Another handy addition to the series, and one that is sure to be popular for the particular subject.
