...Solution Book 09 from Ammo by Mig Jiminez

Title: How to Paint Brick Buildings
Author: Jorge Porto
Publisher: Ammo by Mig Jiminez
ISBN: 978-84-17846-30-5

This is the latest in their Solution Book series from Ammo, number 9. A guide to a colours and weathering system using an assortment of products within the various Ammo ranges. A 71-page softcover book which uses high quality pictures and icons to help describe what to do, and all the text sections provided in 4 languages (English, Spanish, French and German).
The book starts with some details of each of the different product types which feature in the various stages and introduces us to the use of a Miniart 1/35 Ruined Church (Ref 35533) which forms the basis for the book. As is now standard for this series, some brief text outlines each one of the 13 stages while the rest is explained by using high quality colour images of the diorama, annotated with icons and images of the necessary material used in each process. The 13 stages cover Assembly: Primer: Exterior Colour: Brick Masonry (Mortar Joints): Shading: Filters: Windows: Washes: Streaking: Dust: Wood: Roofing Tiles: and rounds things off with Finishing Touches. Some of these things will be familiar to many modellers but for most of us there are still plenty of handy tips in here which could help you enhance your skills.
Designed to accompany a Solutions Box of the necessary materials to reproduce these effects on a model of your own, I do like that Ammo also sell the book by itself, especially for those who already have a good selection of their products. A way of presenting the Ammo range of modelling materials and in a way that adds value to their product range and one that I am sure many modellers will find helpful.
Thanks to Ammo of Mig Jiminez for our review copy.
